In 2017
This is a pilot project for BMBF pipeline network node renovation, which is jointly carried out by the German Ministry of Education, the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection, and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and has achieved flushing of inverted siphon pipes. This project includes two sections of siphon with diameter of DN800, total length up to 265m, and slope of 0.08%.
Regular flushing of the inverted siphon pipeline is carried out by using mini retention and flushing shield to prevent the sedimentation of the pipeline. The specific process introduction can be found in the collaborative paper between Dr. Zhao Fangfang and Wuxi Water Group Co., Ltd. titled "Design and Application of Mini Storage Shield in Inverted Rainbow Flushing".
